🔨 Whack-a-Mole
Nine holes, forty-five seconds, and very rude moles — bonk as many as you can, but keep your hammer off the bombs!
How to play Whack-a-Mole
How to play
Whack-a-Mole is a 45-second reflex riot played on a 3×3 board of burrows. Moles pop up at random holes — bonk each one with a tap or click for 1 point before it ducks back underground. Every so often a golden mole appears inside a glowing gold burrow: it is quicker than a regular mole but worth 3 points. And watch out for bombs — smacking one costs you 2 points and briefly stuns your hammer, so look before you bonk. When the timer hits zero your final score is tallied, and your best score is saved in this browser for the next grudge match.
Controls
- Mouse / touch: tap or click a mole to bonk it.
- Keyboard: press 1–9 to bonk the matching hole (1 is top-left, 9 is bottom-right).
- Start / restart: click the big button, or press Enter.
Tips
- Golden moles are worth triple points — prioritize them, but do not get tunnel vision and miss easy bonks.
- Bombs share the same pop-up motion as moles; the sparking fuse is the giveaway, so glance at the shape before you swing.
- Rest your eyes on the center of the board so all nine holes sit in your peripheral vision.
- Do not mash blindly — every bomb you hit wipes out two good bonks.
- The moles speed up in the final 15 seconds. Stay loose, keep your wrist relaxed, and keep tapping.
Scoring
Regular mole: 1 point. Golden mole: 3 points. Bomb: minus 2 points plus a short hammer stun. There is no penalty for letting a mole escape — it simply ducks away. Your best score is stored on this device, so every run is a rematch against yourself.
