How to play

Water Balloon Toss is a ten-throw backyard showdown against the wind. You stand on the left of the lawn with an endless crate of water balloons; your friend stands on the right, bravely holding a bucket over their head at a new random distance every round. Before each throw you set your launch angle, then hold to charge your power and release to let the balloon fly. The balloon arcs through the air on a real projectile path — and the wind pushes it left or right the whole way. Land it in the bucket for points: dead center is a perfect 100, and anything that splashes on the grass is a miss.

Controls

• Set angle: tap the ▲ / ▼ Angle buttons, press the Up / Down arrows, or drag up and down on the game area while charging.
• Charge and throw: press and hold the mouse button, your finger, or Space to charge the power meter, then release to throw.
• Press Start Tossing to begin and Toss Again for an instant rematch.

Tips

• Aim into the wind: a wind blowing left means your balloon drifts left, so angle slightly right of the bucket and let the breeze carry it home.
• High angles (60°+) are forgiving on distance but hang in the air longer, giving the wind more time to bully the balloon. Low, flat throws are wind-resistant but need precise power.
• The dotted preview arc ignores wind on purpose — it shows where the balloon would land in still air, so you can judge how much the wind will bend it.
• Consecutive dunks build a streak bonus, so consistency beats one lucky bullseye. Settle on an angle you trust and adjust power for the bucket distance.

Scoring

Each throw scores up to 100 points: a splash dead in the bucket's center is a perfect 100, and the score falls off the further you land from center, down to a minimum of 20 for a rim grazer. A miss scores 0. Dunk two or more in a row and every hit adds a streak bonus of 10 extra points per consecutive dunk. Your total across all 10 throws is your score, and your best total is saved in your browser.
