⌨️ Typing Racer
Sixty seconds, a hundred words, and your keyboard — race on!
How to play Typing Racer
How to play
Typing Racer is a 60-second sprint for your fingers. Press Start and a stream of random English words appears, with the current word highlighted in orange. Type the word exactly as shown and press the spacebar — correct words turn green, wrong ones turn red — and the game jumps to the next word. The word list is endless, so you will never run out mid-race. When the timer hits zero, your words-per-minute and accuracy appear on the results screen.
Controls
Just your keyboard — or the on-screen keyboard on a phone or tablet. Type letters normally and hit space after every word to submit it and move on; you cannot go back to fix a word, so commit and keep moving. Autocorrect is disabled, so every keystroke is truly yours. Click the input box to refocus if you click away, and press Enter on the Start button to begin.
Tips
Read one word ahead while typing the current one — your eyes should stay slightly in front of your fingers. Never slow down over mistakes; the hesitation costs more than a wrong word. Keep your wrists relaxed and fingers on the home row between words. On mobile, rotate to landscape for a bigger keyboard and fewer typos. Smooth, steady rhythm beats frantic bursts — most fast typists look almost lazy, and that is the goal.
Scoring
Your headline stat is WPM, calculated the standard way: every five correctly typed characters counts as one word, divided by minutes elapsed, updating live as you race. Accuracy is correct characters divided by total characters typed, also live. The final screen shows WPM, accuracy, and how many words you nailed out of all submitted. Around 40 WPM is solid, 60+ is genuinely quick, and 80+ means your fingers are flying.
