🐍 Snake Classic
Eat, grow, don't bite your own tail — the arcade legend is back!

How to play
Snake Classic is the arcade legend, rebuilt for your browser. Guide your snake around the board, gobble the red apples, and grow one segment longer with every bite. Each apple also quickens the pace a notch, so the longer you survive, the tenser the board gets. Before you start, pick your poison: Classic Walls mode ends your run the instant you touch an edge, while Wrap Mode teleports you through to the opposite side. In both modes your own tail is always deadly — run into it and the run is over.
Controls
On a keyboard, steer with the arrow keys or WASD. On a touchscreen, swipe up, down, left, or right anywhere on the board and the snake turns that way. The snake cannot reverse directly into itself, so think one turn ahead — a queued turn only fires when it is legal, which keeps accidental U-turns from ending a great run.
Tips
Give yourself room: wide lazy loops beat tight spirals every time. In Classic Walls mode, avoid hugging the edges — a surprise apple near a corner can trap you. In Wrap Mode the edges become escape routes instead: dive through one side to dodge a trap closing in on the other. As the snake gets long, trace your tail's own path at a safe distance rather than cutting across open board. And when the speed ramps up, play calmer, not faster — panic turns cause most crashes.
Scoring
Every apple scores 10 points. Your speed level climbs every 3 apples, and the snake's step quickens from a lazy 140 milliseconds down to a blistering 60 — later apples demand real reflexes. The 🏆 trophy tracks your best score of the session. Breaking 200 points is strong, 500 is genuinely elite, and 1000 means you are a snake whisperer.
