🐌 Snail Race
Slow and steady wins the race — unless a bird gets you first!

How to play
Snail Race is a garden-dodging arcade racer where you play the world's most determined snail. Your snail automatically crawls upward toward the leaf finish line at the top of the garden — your job is steering left and right to thread the gaps between hazards. White salt piles sit scattered across the course and hungry birds swoop horizontally across your path; touching either one costs you a heart, and losing all 3 hearts knocks you out of the race. Reach 100% of the course distance and you win the Great Garden Race with your finishing time recorded. The catch: your snail speeds up the further it gets, so the final stretch is a frantic slalom. After a hit you get 1.5 seconds of shimmering invincibility, which is your cue to reposition, not to celebrate.
Controls
- Keyboard: Left / Right arrows or A / D to steer.
- Touch: hold the ◀ and ▶ buttons under the garden.
- Start / restart: click the button, or press Enter.
Tips
- Stay near the middle of the garden so you always have escape room on both sides.
- Birds telegraph their lane — watch for a bird entering from the edge and drift to the opposite side early.
- Salt piles scroll down toward you; pick your gap two piles ahead instead of reacting to the nearest one.
- Use your invincibility window after a hit to cross through a crowded patch safely.
- The last 20% is the fastest — small, smooth steering beats wild zig-zagging.
Scoring
Your progress is shown as a percentage of the course; crossing 100% wins the race and your finishing time is displayed. Your best progress percentage is saved in this browser. There are no points for style — but finishing with all 3 hearts intact is the true snail-master flex.
