How to play

Orbit Hop is a one-button arcade survival game set around a ringed green planet. Your rocket is locked into orbit and circles the planet automatically — you never steer left or right. What you do control is your distance from the planet: three glowing orbit lanes, inner, middle and outer. Hop inward or outward one lane at a time to thread the gaps between spinning asteroids. Every star sitting on the lanes is yours for the taking and worth 25 points, while a single asteroid hit ends the run in a fiery flash. The longer you survive, the faster your ship flies and the more asteroids crowd the lanes, so each run turns into a tense lane-dancing ballet around the planet.

Controls

• Hop inward: press the Up arrow or W, or tap the ⬆️ HOP IN button.
• Hop outward: press the Down arrow or S, or tap the ⬇️ HOP OUT button.
• Start / restart: click Start Orbiting (or Hop Again), or press Space / Enter.
• Works with keyboard, mouse clicks and touch — one finger is all you need.

Tips

• Plan one hop ahead: asteroids appear ahead of your flight path, so watch the lane you are moving into, not just the one you are in.
• The active lane glows brighter — when things get fast, use the glow as a visual anchor and keep your eyes on the rocks ahead of it.
• Asteroids drift along their own slow orbits too, so a lane that looks safe can turn dangerous; hop early rather than late.
• Stars often sit right beside asteroid gaps, so grabbing them naturally teaches you the safest lines — chase stars and you chase survival.

Scoring

Your score grows in two ways: every star you collect is worth a flat 25 points, and you earn survival points every second, with the per-second rate speeding up the longer you last. One asteroid collision ends the game instantly. Your best score is saved in your browser, so every hop is a duel against your own record.
