How to play
Mini Sudoku is a bite-size version of the classic puzzle, perfect for kids and first-timers. The board is a 4×4 grid of cheerful colored squares. Your job is to fill every square with a number from 1 to 4 so that three rules are true: each row contains 1, 2, 3 and 4 exactly once, each column contains them exactly once, and each little 2×2 colored box contains them exactly once. The timer starts the moment you begin, and every puzzle you finish is a brand-new one — you will never get the same board twice in a row.
Controls
Click or tap any empty square to select it — it will glow — then click or tap one of the big number buttons 1 to 4 to place that number. You can also type 1–4 on your keyboard and move the selection with the arrow keys. Backspace or Delete clears the selected square (if it was not a starting clue). If you are stuck, press the 💡 Hint button to fill in one tricky square — you get 3 hints per puzzle.
Tips
Start with the box, row or column that already has three numbers — the last square can only be the missing one. Look for "single candidates": if three of the four numbers already appear in a square's row, column or box, the fourth number is forced. Place one number at a time and re-scan the board — each placement creates new obvious moves. Save your hints for the late game when only a couple of squares are left, and double-check a guess before tapping: every wrong number counts as a mistake, and three mistakes end the puzzle.
Scoring
There is no point score — your trophy is the finish time! Complete the board with zero mistakes for a flawless 🌟 victory, and try to beat your best time. Unused hints are a badge of honor. Your best time is saved on this device, so each new puzzle is a fresh shot at the rainbow crown.
