How to play

Maze Escape drops you into a brand-new, randomly generated maze every single round — no two runs are ever the same. You are the glowing orange dot in the top-left corner, and your goal is the pulsing purple exit in the bottom-right. Guide the dot through the corridors without passing through walls, and the clock stops the instant you reach the exit. Your time is saved as your personal best, so every new maze is a fresh chance to set a record.

Controls

On desktop, use the Arrow keys or WASD to move the dot one cell at a time — the dot only moves if there is an open path, so walls stop you automatically. On touch screens, swipe up, down, left, or right on the maze to step in that direction. The New maze button in the score bar generates a fresh maze and restarts the timer at any moment.

Tips

Resist the urge to sprint blindly — a few seconds of planning beats a minute of backtracking. The classic wall-following trick works beautifully here: keep one hand on the same wall and you will eventually reach the exit. Dead ends are free information, not failures; mark them mentally and move on. Try to spot long corridors that run toward the bottom-right corner, since the exit always waits there. Smooth, deliberate taps on mobile beat frantic swiping.

Scoring

There are no points — your score is your time. The timer counts up in tenths of a second while you play, and your fastest escape is stored in your browser as your Best. Beat it, and the new record takes its place. Can you escape in under thirty seconds?
