🔴 Connect Four
Four in a row wins. Watch out — the computer blocks your traps!
How to play Connect Four
How to play
Connect Four is the timeless battle of wits on a 7-column, 6-row grid. You are the orange discs and the computer is purple — you always move first. Take turns dropping one disc at a time into any column; it slides down and stacks on top of whatever is already there. The first player to line up four of their own discs in a row — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — wins the game. If the whole board fills up with no four-in-a-row, the game is a draw.
Controls
Click or tap any column to drop your disc into it — the disc falls to the lowest empty slot. Keyboard players can press 1 through 7 to drop into columns one through seven. During the computer's turn the board is locked briefly, so wait for your turn banner before clicking again.
Tips
The center column is the most powerful spot on the board because it connects to the most winning lines — grab it early. Always check whether the computer is one move away from four in a row and block it, but beware of traps: the AI loves setting up two threats at once so you can only block one. Building your own double threats is how you win. Keep an eye on diagonals; they are the easiest lines to miss until it is too late. And remember, vertical stacks of three are loud warnings — defend them first.
Scoring
Each match is a single decisive battle: win, lose, or draw. There is no point system — the glory is in the victory screen. The winning four discs light up with a glowing highlight so you can admire (or study) the exact line that decided the game.
