🧪 Ball Sort
One ball at a time, plan ahead — and the empty tubes are your best friends!
How to play Ball Sort
How to play
Ball Sort is a calm, clever sorting puzzle. You get six tubes: four colors of balls are mixed up across four tubes, and two tubes start empty. The challenge is to pour the balls between tubes until every tube contains balls of one single color. Tap a tube to lift its top ball into the air, then tap a second tube to drop it in. A ball can only land on a ball of the same color or in an empty tube — anything else is not allowed, so every move takes a little thought.
Controls
Tap or click a tube to select it — the top ball floats up and the tube glows. Tap the same tube again to put the ball back down, or tap another tube to pour the ball over. The purple Undo button takes back your last move, and New puzzle deals a fresh shuffle whenever you want a restart. There is no timer pressure in the design, but a clock ticks in the score bar so you can challenge yourself for fewer moves and faster finishes.
Tips
Treat your two empty tubes as parking spots: use one to temporarily hold a stray color while you free up the rest. Always try to drop a ball onto a matching color rather than opening a new tube — filling a tube with its own color is the fastest route to the win. Before pouring, look two moves ahead: ask where the ball under the one you are about to move will go. If you get stuck, undo a few moves and try a different order; most shuffles only look impossible until you free one key ball.
Scoring
There is no single score — the game celebrates efficiency instead. Your move count and your finish time are shown at the top, and solving the puzzle in fewer moves is the real trophy. A tidy solve usually lands under 40 moves; if you finish under 30, you planned like a grandmaster. Keep replaying fresh shuffles with the New puzzle button and beat your own best move count.
